Kitty HomeSafe After Three Weeks

I had noticed a very pretty, long-haired cat wandering in our neighbourhood for a few weeks and no-one seemed to know whom she belonged to. One day, I reached down to pet the cat and discovered that -- underneath all of that hair -- she was very thin. She acted like she was starving so I gave her some fish and she gobbled it up. I knew then the cat was genuinely lost.

I bought some cat food and continued feeding kitty for a few days. Eventually, I posted a "Found Cat" report on PetLynx and made a poster. Soon after, I received a call from a woman saying it was her teenaged daughter's 12-year-old cat. She had been checking PetLynx regularly and was trilled to find my posting. Their cat had been missing for three weeks!

It was a very emotional experience when they came to get their cat. The girl was so relieved that she had finally found her life-long friend she cried tears of joy! She was so thankful that she sent me flowers.

Thank you PetLynx for providing this service. I felt so sorry for the cat and it was helpful to have somewhere to turn to for assistance in locating her owners.

Pet Family Would Have Been "Lost" Without PetLynx

Here is an example of how the PetLynx AutoMatch system works 24/7 to help lost pets get HomeSafe fast:

I would like to thank PetLynx for the valuable service provided to me when I lost my Golden Retriever. I posted the details online with PetLynx and called the city pound and the humane society to file a lost report as soon as we discovered that our dog was lost.

My dog was found by a bylaw officer and City Animal Services must have notified PetLynx because the very next morning I received an email from your organization indicating that you had identified a possible match.

So, many thanks to all who have a hand in helping distraught owners and animals reunite. We would have been lost without you.

Sincerely,
Chris M.

PetLynx Brings Molly Home!

Molly, a 12-year-old Labrador X, and our golden retriever puppy went missing last December shortly after we moved to Edmonton, Alberta.

The dogs somehow escaped from their fenced yard at about 6:00 a.m. and the search for them began shortly after. The puppy was picked up by the City of Edmonton Animal Services about 90 minutes later... and was back home before noon. But there was no sign of Molly! Animal Services told us about PetLynx, so we posted Molly's lost report there and checked regularly for possible matches.

I checked the dog pound just about every day and, as the days wore on, began to think we had lost her for good. Molly is a house pet, and the morning she went missing was the start of the coldest days of the year. The fact we moved to an area where it was possible she could have been hit by a car had me really worried!

Molly had been gone for seven days when we received a phone call from someone who found her information posted on PetLynx. Molly had been wandering around an alley and she appeared to be injured but she would not go very close them so they could check her. The kind-hearted citizens managed to bribe her to come into their yard. She immediately ran under their deck and hid in an area where they could not reach her. There she stayed for several days.

We went to the home and my son called her name. She came running from out under the deck, with her tail wagging like nothing had happen. She did not display any signs of being outside for the past week. The injury the family had noticed had since healed, and we were so very happy to find her.

Molly is my son’s dog and we had brought her home when he was only 6-years-old. The day we found her was only four days before his 17th birthday. He said it was the best present he could have gotten this year.

I believe that without our lost report being on PetLynx we might never have gotten our beloved Molly back. Thanks for all you help.

Dog Gone is Saskatchewan

My two daughters and I were visiting my mother in Regina on the Easter weekend. There were so many people coming in and out of the house that our four-year-old Shih Tzu, Duke, managed to escape. The girls and I drove around for hours searching for him. Unfortunately, we had to drive back to Estevan without him. The girls cried all the way home.

Once we got home, I phoned the Regina police and they told my about PetLynx. I registered Duke right away.

Within 36 hours of Duke running off, a man contacted me after hearing an announcement on the local radio station. He had found a dog that he thought might be ours! I told him I had Duke's information posted on PetLynx and emailed him my listing so he could ensure the dog he had found really was Duke.

Sure enough... it was him! My mom went over to the man’s house to pick him up and now he is home safe and sound.

Thank you for your help!

Sincerely,
Jaime W.

Spring Has Sprung... Spring Shedding Has Begun!

Your pet may be HomeSafe.... but are you prepared for the flood of shedding pet hair that accompanies spring?

Here are some tips from the good folks that make FURminator deShedding Products... to help you cope with your pet's furry spring flurry!

Diet plays a key role in your pet's overall health. Feeding your pet a quality pet food with protein, vitamins and Omega-Fatty Acids will promote a healthy weight and topcoat and can help reduce shedding.

Scratch the Itch: Pets can itch because of fleas, dry skin or even a skin allergy, which can spread dander throughout the house. Whatever the cause, make sure to speak with your veterinarian to help your pets feel and look their best.

Love Your Pet, Hate the Shedding? Use a professional style grooming tool, such as the FURminator, to reduce the amount of fur left on floors, couches and clothes

Lessen Allergies and Sneezing by creating allergy-free areas for family members with pet allergies. Restrict animals to certain rooms of your home and consider using allergen-resistant covers on mattresses and pillows. Regular grooming will also decrease the amount of airborne allergens and dander around the house.

Remove Pet Hair From Upholstery daily with a lint roller... before fur works its way into fabric. If pets are allowed on the furniture, consider investing in furniture throws that can be laundered - this will keep your home looking and smelling better.

Thanks to PetLynx, I was able to find my dog in less than two days. You are AWESOME and I can't thank you enough!
     Christine M.

It has been a very good morning! My cat Buttons came home after being missing for four days. I was so worried about him because he is old and not very well. On Tuesday I opened the door to let the dog in and in walked Buttons, too... acting as if he was very angry with me! With a little pampering he was right back in my arms and happily purring away.
     Linda C.

I just wanted to let you know that I was successfully matched with my lost dog today. I go to the pound to pick her up tomorrow. Thank you for this service... my experience is proof that it works.

Sophie's Great Escape...

...And Safe Return
Sophie, an 18-month-old Lhasa Apso, must have felt she was getting too many baths because she dug a hole under the fence of her guardian's back yard and made a break for it. (She wasn't wearing a collar and tag because she had just been bathed again, after playing in the melting snow and resulting muddy yard.)

The little dog was found several blocks away and dropped her off at a nearby veterinarian's office. The vet assistant called the City of Calgary Animal & Bylaw Services and they came and picked her up. They also kindly gave her another bath, as she was really dirty by this time.

According to her guardian, Lorrie K., Sophie was away two sleepless nights. When she went to the City of Calgary to claim her lost pet, she was very impressed with how clean the facility -- and Sophie -- both were

"As for PetLynx," wrote Lorri. "Thank you so much for letting me use your website to post her picture and information. You have a very good service for all of us pet owners. The PetLynx website was so easy to use! I highly recommend PetLynx to anyone who is looking for his or her lost pet.

Sophie and I would like to thank everyone involved with her return home. She is a special little gift from God to me.

Lorri R., Calgary
